Elijah Killian - My 3rd Gr-Grandfather

Confederate Veteran.  28th C - Catawba Co, NC, Private, CSA.

Taken prisoner at Gettysburg and then inprisoned in New York during the War of Northern Aggression.

Note: I only follow my family line on the above family group sheet.

Some Documents Pertaining to Elijah's Service During the War of Northern Aggression follow:

Starting Page of His Records:

Health Begins to Suffer...

Contracts Typhoid Fever....

Furloughed...

Detailed to the Surgery

Staying with the Surgery...

Verification he was put on Roll of Honor...

Taken Prisoner at Gettysburg...

Admitted to DeCamp General Hospital as a P.O.W.

Parolled...

Further research indicates that he never fully recovered physically from the ravages of his illnesses and the torture he endured while imprisoned.

In the Confederate Service File for his nephew, Logan Bolch, is a letter which Elijah wrote detailing what can only be described as a horrific incident in which he was assigned to hold said nephew Logan Bolch down while the young man's arm was amputated.

My respect for this ancestor of mine is evident, I believe, from the sheer length of this entry.
