Finishing up my Pitt lineage thusly;
Thomas Pitt, referenced below, was the son of John Pitt of Blandford ( - d. abt 1596) and Joan Swayne.
This John Pitt of Blandford was Clerk of the Exchequer during Queen Elizabeth's Reign. (A bit like the Secretary of the Treasury in the United States.)
John Pitt of Blandford was the son of *Nicholas Pitt of Stepleton.
*Nicholas Pitt of Stepleton (ca 1464 Stepleton, England - abt 1547 Blandford, Dorset, England) was the husband of the daughter of Roger Cooke. (See the will of William Pitt of Bristol in which he wills a ring that was given to him by his great-grandfather, Roger Cooke to one of his sons.)
Nicholas Pitt was the father of **William Blithe Pitt.
**William Blithe Pitt (ca 1443- abt 1529) and was the father of ***Sir Edward Pitt.
*** Sir Edward Pitt ( - d. ca 1454) married Elizabeth Nicholai Willford (daughter of Nicholas Wylford/Wilford of London) and was the son of **** William Pitt and Katherine Broughton (Daughter of Baughton of Linbridge.)

***** John Pitt of Curwyard was the son of *******Robert Pitt and Jane de la Poole.
