There are a certain amount of mental gymnastics needed to understand fully the ways in which the Bridger and Pitt families are related. I shall try to keep this simple and remark where one lineage ends and a new one begins. If one starts with the previously studied
Sally Pitt it will help keep it all straight.
Notes: Robert Pitt moved to Edgecombe County, North Carolina before the Revolution. He served in the militia during the war and received £15 in pay vouchers. (North Carolina Revolutionary Army Accounts Vol. 10, p. 17, folio 4.) Source: South Side Virginia Families, John Bennett Bodie.
