Leroy was an Oil Driller working in the Oilfield and sometime near 1940 he met Wanda Lorene Furry. It is believed this couple married for the Texas Birth Indexes show a daughter was born to the two of them in 1941 in Midland County, Texas.
Wanda Lorene Furry was the daughter of William A. Furry and Etta Violet (Mallone) Furry who appear on the 1930 Federal Census of Texas in Brown County.
For a time, "Lorene" (as Wanda went by her middle name) and Leroy lived in Hobbs, New Mexico. Sometime around 1953, Lorene left Leroy and took their daughter to Bossier City, Louisiana.
Sadly, Leroy was killed in an automobile accident in Cabaiguán, Cuba 12 March 1955. Leroy's body was brought back to the US, seemingly, for there is a grave marker for him in the Wetumka Cemetery, Wetumka, Hughes County, Oklahoma.
There is evidence that Lorene remarried a man by the surname of Osbon for the Texas Death Index and the Social Security Index shows one Wanda Lorene Osbon as passing away 6 January 1991 in Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas.
What became of her daughter is unknown by some of the family who would very much like to get in touch with her.
